Brigitta White
May 5, 1936 — May 3, 2024
Athol
Brigitta White, born May 5, 1936, in the charming heart of Bayern, Germany, has departed from our world on May 3, 2024. An adventurous spirit, Brigitta’s life was a rich tapestry of experiences that began in her native Germany and eventually found her setting roots in Athol, Massachusetts. Her journey was a testament to her courage and appetite for life, and those who knew her were captivated by her tales of a homeland far away, and the new home she built here.
Brigitta was a woman of many talents and wore many hats throughout her life. She was a devoted, hardworking employee at Starrets in Athol, where she contributed her skills in tool making. Brigitta had a generous spirit and was always thoughtful towards others, traits that shone through in her work and made her a valued member of her team. Outside her career, she was an active member of several local organizations, including the Athol/Orange Eagles, Franco-American club, Lithuanian club, and the Orange American Legion. These communities were enriched by her loving nature and the unique perspective she brought from her European upbringing. As Alfred Lord Tennyson once said, "I am a part of all that I have met," and indeed, Brigitta was a part of all the people and communities she touched.
In her later years, Brigitta found joy in the little pleasures of life, such as spending time with her beloved grandson, Adrian Kelley. She was a beacon of strength and resilience to him, and their relationship embodied the thoughtful and loving nature that was the essence of Brigitta. She was a woman who loved deeply and lived fully, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her.
Brigitta was predeceased by her parents, Johann and Joanna-Christine (Benkert) Bluth, and leaves behind her son, Reiner Bluth, and grandson, Adrian Kelley.
We invite those who knew Brigitta to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Each story and picture serves not only as a tribute to Brigitta's life but also as a reminder of the adventurous, generous, thoughtful, and loving spirit that she was. May we continue to celebrate her life and keep her memory alive in our hearts.
