Bronislaw Robert Wisniewski

GARDNER - Bronislaw "Bennie" Robert Wisniewski, 96 of Gardner, died Saturday, February 9, 2008 in the Wachusett Manor, Gardner. Bennie was born in Gardner, on June 7, 1911, the son of the late John and Rosalia (Zawrotney) Wisniewski. In 1936, he married Mary Jane Florczyk, they were married for 59 years until her death on October 24, 1997. Bennie is survived by his two daughters Adele Peterson and her husband Robert of Gardner, and Frances Champlin and her husband Robert of Baldwinville; four grandchildren, Christine Preliasco of North Kingstown, RI, Douglas Peterson of New Hartford, NY, Tracy Pierce of Gardner, and Alison Mulhall of Templeton; and three great grandchildren; several nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Stanley and Chester and by a sister Helen. He lived in Gardner most of his life. He retired from National Grid, formally Mass Electric, in 1973, with more than 39 years of service as a linesman. He was also a member of the Gardner call Fire Department, retiring in 1973, with more than 30 years of service. While retired he received an accommodation from the Gardner Fire Department in 1989, for taking action at the scene of an electrical accident. In the past he enjoyed attending Red Sox games, movies, reading and gardening. He was a charter member of the PACC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 11:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Wachusett Manor, 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, MA 01440.
