GARDNER - Carl V. Carlson 86 of Gardner died Monday, December 1, 2014. He was born in Gardner the son of Carl G. Carlson and Olivia (Johnson) Carlson. He grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army. Mr. Carlson worked at Simplex Time Recorder for over 30 years as an assembler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing in the Quabbin Reservoir, occasional trips to the casino, solving the daily Sudoku puzzles in the paper, and playing cribbage on Tuesdays.   He also liked to watch trains down at the depot and enjoyed haddock nuggets from Duguay's on Wednesdays and Saturdays. He leaves his son Carl S. Carlson of Gardner. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor J. (Lepkowski) Carlson who died in 2001. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 9 AM in the Poliks Funeral Home 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Gardner. A calling hour will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 8 to 9 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made in his memory to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
