Carmella M (Gosselin) Morris

GARDNER - Carmella (Gosselin) Morris, of 41 Deer Hill Road, and The Villages, Florida, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saint Anthony, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Aime and Florence (Richard) Gosselin. Besides her parents, Carmella leaves her beloved husband of 41 years, Creighton R. Morris; a daughter, Shelley Lynn Lavallee and her husband, Phillip of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; a son, Christopher R. Morris and his wife, Nicole of Holly Springs, NC; two brothers, Valmont Gosselin and his wife, Christine of Gardner, and Raymond Gosselin of Otter River; five sisters, Norma Boudreau and her husband, Thomas of Gardner, Gisele Boone and her husband, James also of Gardner, Yvette Reed and her husband, William of Templeton, Denise Gosselin and her fiancé, Van Laskarides of Ashburnham, and Jacqueline Harmon and her husband, Paul of Wichendon; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Prevost and Virginia Plevka, both of Gardner; two grandchildren, Gavin and Sierra Lavallee; many nieces and nephews. Carmella was a graduate of Gardner High School with the class of 1965. After graduation, she worked for a short period as a secretary for Wain-Roy Corporation in Hubbardston, moving on to another position at Union Twist Drill in Athol for 10 years. She later worked for many years, at Mount Wachusett Community College as Division Secretary for the Nursing Department, retiring in 2006. Carmella was known for her kindness and hospitality. All were welcome at her home at any time. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang professionally with a local band during her teen years and early 20’s. She continued to sing over the years for many special occasions. She had many hobbies including aerobics, line dancing, golf, and traveling. She and Creighton traveled to many parts of the world including Canada, Russia, Greece, Turkey, China, Scandinavia and more. She was happiest when spending time with family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren. Carmella was a member of Holy Cross Church in Templeton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 6, at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Ave., East Templeton. The committal service will follow in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon. Calling hours are Thursday, July 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the John H. Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Brain Tumor Research Fund at Massachusetts General Hospital, c/o Development Office, 165 Cambridge St., Boston, MA 02114, or to the Gardner VNA Hospice, c/o Office of Development, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440. $(document).ready(function(){ });
