FITCHBURG- Carol (Testa) Clapper, 70, of Fitchburg, died Tuesday, November 7, at UMass Medical Center after an illness.
Carol was born December 31, 1946, in Fitchburg, daughter of the late Albert and Doris (Therrien) Testa. Carol will be remembered for her kind and generous heart. She took in many children over the years becoming their “second mother” and maintaining relationships with them throughout their lives. Family was her priority. She loved babysitting, being together as a family, and her dogs. She enjoyed trips to the Cape and Hampton Beach, Bingo, watching her soap operas, and flowers. She collected magnets and enjoyed crocheting Afghans and pillows.
She leaves her husband of 49 years, William C. Clapper, Jr.; one son, William C. Clapper, III and his wife, Michelle of Shirley; one daughter, Doris West and her husband, Kenneth of Cedar Falls, Iowa; five grandchildren, William C. Clapper, IV, Kyle William Clapper, Trent Bourque, Brett Clapper, and Matthew Angelini; one great grandson, William C. Clapper, V; one brother, Richard Testa of Clinton; one sister, Jeannie Babineau and her husband, Donald of Westminster; sister in law, Cheryl Testa of Ashburnham; her “adopted” children, Donald Stevens and his wife, Stacy, Gary Tusia and his wife, Angel, all of Fitchburg, Patricia Martin and her husband, William of Cedar Falls, Iowa; many dear friends including, two lifelong friends, Sandy Tusia and Gerri Bouvier; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by one brother, Charles Testa.
Calling hours are Monday, November 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. And Tuesday , November 14, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 14, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg.
