GARDNER - Carol A. Cormier,62, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gardner on April 11, 1960, a daughter of the late Alfred Richard and Gloria (Landry) Richard.
Carol grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1978. Carol owned and operated Gardner Travel Agency for over 42 years, working with her father for many years.
She was a member of Square 2 for 10 years, and on the Board of Directors of the CAC for 10 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved to travel. She loved spending time working in her gardens and time with her furry friends. She also enjoyed her time in the kitchen cooking and baking. She just loved helping others.
She leaves her husband of 38 years, Ivan F. Cormier; one son, Curt Cormier and his significant other, Samantha Rios of Gardner; one sister, Janice Conboy and her husband Darren of Lexington, MA; one brother, Tom Richard and his wife Susan Sullivan of Port Orange, FL; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Cormier; two grandchildren, Alexander Cormier, Dean Cormier.
She was predeceased by a son, Casey Cormier who passed in 2018.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. All attending are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be private at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Carol's memory be made to the Compassionate Friends c/o Jim Powell, Worcester Chapter, 5 North Drive, Fiskdale, MA 01518, or to Alyssa's Place, 297 Central St., Gardner, MA 01440.
