Carol Keating

ATHOL - Carol A. (DeMinico) Keating, 73, of 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, died on Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.     She was born in Worcester on March 2, 1938, the daughter of the late Laurens and the late Josephine (Surozinski) DeMinico.     Mrs. Keating grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1955. She worked as an office clerk for the L.S. Starrett Tool Company until her retirement in 1986. She was a former member of the Athol Congregational Church. She had a passion for art and was a very skilled painter. Carol enjoyed watching sports and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.     She leaves her husband of twenty-eight years, Robert T. Keating; two sons, James Geikie, Sr. and his wife Betsy of Athol, Peter Geikie of Hudson; one sister, Connie Day of Greenfield; one grandson, James Geikie, Jr. of Athol.     Graveside services in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be held in November at a date and time to be announced.     Please omit flowers, donations may be made to the Quabbin Valley Healthcare Dana Unit, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. $(document).ready(function(){ });
