Carol L. Sutton

October 6, 1945 — July 30, 2014

Carol L. Sutton, 68, of Athol died July 30, 2014 in the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA after a long battle with cancer. She was born October 6, 1945 in Southbridge, Massachusetts to her parents Edward and Rose Luponi. Carol will always be remembered as a caring, Kind, selfless, and compassionate person.  She was an inspiration and a role model to all that knew her; a true angel on this earth.  It brought her joy to help others I need.  Carol was always there with a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, a baked good, or a shoulder to cry on. Family meant the world to Carol.  She was married to the late Walter H. Sutton for 43 years.  She was a devoted, loving, generous, and caring mother and best friend to her daughters, Sherri and Kim and their husbands Grover and  Greg.   She adored spending time and sharing herself with her four grandchildren, Lorin, Tyler, Nicholas, and Steven.  She is survived by her two loving sisters, Mary and Linda and their husbands Frank and Greg, and her brother Eddie and his wife Lori, and her mother Rose Luponi.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Carol will be missed by all. In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed cooking, gardening, and doing crafts.  She loved the outdoors and was joined by her significant other, Joseph Lees, on may adventures which included walking, hiking, disc golfing, geo-caching, zip lining, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and vacationing in several states.  .  She was a bookkeeper, accountant and a computer software trainer. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday August 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Starrett Memorial  United Methodist Church, 40 Island St. Athol, MA 01331, followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Clubhouse at Miller’s Woods 739 Daniel Shay’s Highway, Athol, MA 01331. There will be an opportunity to share memories of Carol at the celebration of life service.
