ATHOL / WINCHESTER, MA - Carole W. (White) Landry of Winchester MA, formerly of Athol, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2018, and was the beloved wife of Alban Landry, to whom she was married in 1956.
She was the beloved mother of David Landry and his wife Sylvie of Houston, TX; Jennifer Nolan and her husband, Stephen, of Waldoboro, ME; and Scott Landry of Truro, MA. She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Paluilis of Athol, MA, her dear lifetime White family friend, Carol Ann Duguay, and five grandchildren – Annabelle and Katia Landry; Brian, Kevin and Alison Nolan. Carole was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Estelle White; her sister, Gail Blanchard; and her brother, Robert Jr.
Carole was fiercely protective of each one of her family. She was a Godly woman and frequent communicant in the Catholic Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Born and raised in Athol, she was a very talented singer, chosen to sing her Class song at high school graduation. She loved being a Coast Guard wife, managing the change of station for her family to eleven different locales in the country but was very sad each time to leave her friends and neighbors. They all thought of her as caring, friendly and loving and the feeling was mutual. She was a term President of the Coast Guard Wives Club in Washington, D.C. and a volunteer worker at the Coast Guard/Navy Vinson Hall Retirement Community in McLean, VA., both sources of great satisfaction. Later in life she was a top retail merchandiser and thoroughly enjoyed her work. Throughout her life she found great joy in gardening, pottery, painting and a good game of cards with family and friends.
