Carolyn H. Osborne
Athol – Carolyn H. (Holloway) Osborne, 78, of 379 West Royalston Road, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Carolyn was born in Athol, Massachusetts April 5, 1934, the daughter of Robert and Blanche (Clark) Holloway. She grew up and lived in Athol and Royalston all of her life, graduating from Athol High School in 1952. She was from a family of ten siblings.
Carolyn worked at the L. S. Starrett Company, Union Twist Drill, a toy company in Gardner and the Old Mill Restaurant in Westminster. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star as a past Worthy Matron. She and her husband were very active in the former Jump Town Twirlers, serving as president and vice president. She was also a member of the Quabbin Snowmobile Club and was an avid treasure hunter.
She leaves her husband of 60 years, Donald L. Osborne, Sr.; a daughter, Donna Anderson of Athol; two sons, Donald Osborne, Jr. of Orange and James Osborne of Athol; four grandchildren, Erica Dahl of Gardner, MA., Deanna Haddocks of Athol, Tiffany and Donald Osborne III of Orange; four great grandchildren, Eryn, Abbey, Brielle and Brooke. She also leaves her brothers and sisters, Roberta Willard of Athol, Gail Fellows of Stamford, CT, Elizabeth Soucie and Myron Holloway, both of Athol, William Holloway of Warehouse Point, CT and Kay Osborne of Athol. She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert Holloway, Jr., John Holloway and Frederick Holloway.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol with the Rev. Adam Randazzo, pastor of the Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. There are no calling hours and burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery.
