Catherine M. Nadeau
Orange – Catherine M. (Therrien) Nadeau, 65, of 50 Red Brook Lane, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born in Greenfield, September 8, 1946, the daughter of Leonard and Flora (Meuse) Therrien. She grew up in South Athol, lived in Athol for many years before moving to Orange.
Catherine worked for MCI Transformer in Orange for the past 22 years, and had previously worked at the former Athol Plastics and was a bar tender for many years at several area establishments. She enjoyed going to the casino, bowling, playing scratch tickets, jigsaw puzzles, rides to New Hampshire and spending time with her family.
She leaves her companion of over 25 years, David Sweeney of Orange; a son, Michael Nadeau and his wife Kristin of Athol; two daughters, Shannon Crosby and her significant other, Earl Johnson, both of Orange and Brandy Nadeau of Athol. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Jessica, Heather, Danielle, Breanna, Tyler and Marissa; one great grandson, Konner; a sister, Anne Newton of Athol; David’s children, Kim Parker of NY and Vicky Blake of Athol; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a half brother, Ernie Mclean.
A private family graveside Service will be held at Silver Lake Cemetery at a later date with the Rev. Adam Randazzo, pastor of the South Athol United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Catherine’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376.
