Gardner

With profound respect and heartfelt memories, we commemorate the life of Cecelia A. Grincewicz, affectionately known as “Chickie”, who was born on February 21, 1929, in Gardner, Massachusetts. Cecelia passed away on May 14, 2024 at the age of 95. She was a generous, kind hearted, remarkable woman whose witty charm brought joy and laughter wherever she went.

Cecelia's career as a registered nurse at East Gardner spanned several decades, during which she shared her compassionate spirit with countless patients. Outside of her profession, Cecelia was a devoted animal lover, bingo player, and gardener. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." This quote encapsulates Cecelia's impact on the world around her.

Cecelia was the widow of Frank Grincewicz, and she leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her great-niece and long-term caretaker, Tia Lavoie (White) and her husband Albert, her sisters Margaret Chicoine, June Cormier, and Annie Boudreau and her husband Albert, and her stepchildren Betsy George and her husband Greg, Craig Grincewicz, Ronald Grincewicz, Wayne Grincewicz, Cheryl Leber, and her husband David as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cecelia was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Ruth Chicoine, her brothers Richard, Norman and Louis Jr. and her stepchildren Frank Jr. and Donna Ronco.

Cecelia's memory will continue to inspire and guide us as we cherish the love and wisdom she bestowed upon us. We invite you to share your own memories, stories, and photos of Cecelia on her memorial page, as we celebrate her remarkable life and the indelible mark she has left on us all.
