Athol- Charles “Chickie†R. Wesockes, 74, of Athol, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 17th, 2013 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner. He was born in Athol on September 19th, 1938, the son of the late George and Grace (Cross) Wesockes.
“Chickie†attended Athol Schools, and worked for assorted factories throughout the area. He also worked as a machine operator for the Thomas & Betts Company retiring in 2007. He enjoyed taking rides in his car, and was known for his talent with crafts. He will always be remembered by the ones close to him for having a green thumb and his love for African Violets which filled his apartment. He also had an interest in exotic fish and had beautiful aquariums.
“Chickie†leaves behind his dear and close friend; Irene Moore of Orange, his step-father; Foster Stone of Gardner, one brother; George Wesockes, three sisters; Patricia Ray and her husband Richard of Athol, and his beloved sisters that he called his angels; Kathleen Palmieri and her husband Scott of Gardner, and Karen Arseneau and her husband Mario of Gardner, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother; Thomas Wesockes, and three sisters; Jacqueline Demoura, Patricia Wesockes, and Debbie Stone.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 27th, 2013 in the Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol at 10:00am. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles name to the Heywood Hospital Oncology 342 Green Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
