Charles E. Clark
Athol – Charles E. “Chuck†Clark, 55, of Common Street, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the Athol Hospital.
Chuck was born in Greenfield, MA, February 5, 1959, the son of Stephen A. Clark, Sr. and Rosemary Lincoln –Clark. He grew up in Warwick, attending Warwick elementary schools and Pioneer Valley High School and has lived in Athol for many years.
Chuck worked as a logger, professional tree climber, skidder driver, and loved to “tinker†with chainsaws and power equipment. He worked for Clark Lumber, Jim Sullivan Tree Company, Castle Tree, and George of the Jungle Tree Company. Chuck loved to play sports, especially football, baseball and ice hockey and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, often furiously texting his Mother back and forth during the games. Nobody ever dared say anything bad about Tom Brady in his presence!
He enjoyed motorcycles, especially dirt bike riding and also muscle cars. When he was a youth he played for the Orange Little League on Carroll’s Market Team. Chuck would always help anyone in need and it is said that he had the “biggest heart in the east.â€
He leaves his children Brandy Reynolds of Greenfield, Nicole Reynolds of Richmond, NH, Levi Clark of
San Manuel, AZ, David Clark of San Diego, CA Samantha Clark of Athol, and Khanze Newton Clark of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Joshua, Kaylee, Cameron, Breanna and Gunnar; several step-grandchildren; his father Stephen A. Clark, Sr. and his mother Rosemary Lincoln-Clark, both of Athol; two brothers, Stephen A. Clark, Jr. of Phippsburg, ME and Chris Clark of Orange and a sister, Susan Veilleux of Royalston. He also leaves his companion Debbie Clark of Athol; nieces and nephews, Mallory, Alex, Michael, Brian, Kristie, Brendan and Kyle and one grand-nephew, Landen. He was predeceased by a grandson Jonathan.
A Celebration of Chuck’s life will be held Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Warwick Town Hall, Warwick Center. Casual dress is suggested. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to: Charles E. Clark Memorial Fund, c/o Athol Savings Bank, 444 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.
