ATHOL- Charles J. Evashousky Jr., age 70 of Athol died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Heywood Hospital of Gardner.
Mr. Evashousky was born February 4, 1944 in Athol, the Son of the late Charles J. and the late Flora B. (Worth) Evashousky.
He graduated from Athol High School 1961. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1962-1965.
He graduated from Mount Wachusett Community College in 1966.
Charles was employed as an Officer of the Athol Police Department in the 1970's. He was a licensed Social Worker for troubled children in the state of MA from 1982 until his retirement in 2002. He became a certified EMT by the Massachusetts DPT of Public Health. He continued on to be a Master Examiner for the state EMS and taught EMS training for many years there after.
He leaves one Son-in-law Timothy Lohnes and his girlfriend Sharon Powell of Athol., four Step-sons, Mathew Savoie of Greenfield MA, Paul Savoie of Greenfield MA, Garrett Savoie of Florida, Eric Savoie of Colrain MA., One Step-daughter Marcie Savoie of Colrain MA, Eight Step-grandchildren and Several Cousins.
He was predeceased by his Step-daughter, Michelle (Savoie) Lohnes who died in 2011
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol, followed by a graveside service at 12:15 p.m. in the Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
