ATHOL - Charles A. Petrowsky, 87 a lifelong resident of Athol, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 in the Athol Memorial Hospital. He was born in Athol, on May 31, 1921, the son of the late Alexander and the late Bolislava (Baginski) Petrowsky. He lived in Athol living in the same house all his life. He enjoyed fishing and he traved extensively, visiting 28 countries. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army from 1942 to 1946. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was an active volunteer there for 18 years. He worked at the L.S. Starrett Company for 28 years, retiring in 1968. He was employed at the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home for 37 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #102, the DAV and the Lithuanian Club. He leaves one daughter: Chris Poole and her husband Jerry of Fayetteville, NC; his extended family: Charlene Sundstrom and her husband Paul and their children Colby & Hayleigh of Phillipston; Verna Lee of Athol and her children Garrett Britt, Scott Britt, Jeffrey Harrington and Marrisa Harrington; and several cousins in Connecticut. He was predeceased by his devoted companion of 25 years, Delores Adams and her son Daniel Adams. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:00 am in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Burial with full military honors will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday October 9, 2008 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol.
