Charlotte J. Laporte

GARDNER- Charlotte J. Laporte, 90, of Gardner, died Sunday, July 26, at Heywood Hospital. Charlotte was born March 21, 1930, in Gardner, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Szavoick) Pawelczyk who immigrated to the US from Poland in October 1929. Charlotte was born 5 months later. She graduated from Gardner High School in 1948. Charlotte loved to yard sale and in the day traveling throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire countryside looking for treasures. Charlotte was a voracious reader and worker of crossword puzzles. An accomplished knitter, there was never a pattern she could not replicate. Charlotte lives animals and flowers. She liked nothing better than a spirited exchange of verbal sparring. Her sense of style was well recognized. She had a piece jewelry for every occasion. She is survived by; two sons, Jeff Laporte and companion Gloria Harthan of Otter River and James Laporte and wife Colleen of Keene, NH; a daughter, whom she lived with, Judy Leesha and husband Francis of Gardner; a granddaughter, Lindsay Race and husband Ben of Winchendon.
