TEMPLETON - Chester R. Sawicki, 85 of 107 Main Street, Templeton, died March 11, 2012, surrounded by his family at The Hospice House in Auburn, ME.    He was born in Templeton, on June 17, 1926, the son of the late Adam and the late Rozalia (Swenkowski) Sawicki.   Mr. Sawicki was a lifelong resident of Otter River and graduated from Templeton High School with the class of 1944. For many years the worked at the former Heywood Wakefield until it closed. Mr. Sawicki then worked for the former S. Bent Company in Gardner for eleven years, retiring as Supervisor in 1989. He was a communicant of St. Martin's Church in Otter River and was a Deputy Fire Chief in Otter River for twenty-five years. Mr. Sawicki enjoyed tending his garden and fruit trees and sharing the crops with his family. In the spring, fishing was his passion. He could often be found hiking the banks of Millers River or Priest Brook. The fall brought hunting season. He most enjoyed the time he spent hunting deer with his grandsons.  He leaves one daughter: Linda Morrilly of Chandler, AZ; one son: Keith Sawicki and his wife Karen of Rangeley, ME; two brothers: Walter Sawicki of Gardner, Joseph Sawicki of Gardner; five grandchildren: Peter Sawicki of Freeport, ME; Thomas Sawicki of Freeport, ME; Carrie Tomany of Fremont, NH; David Morrilly of Iowa City, IA, Jennifer Wahlbrink of Chandler, AZ; and thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.   He was predeceased by his wife of 63yrs, Eleanor L. Sawicki who died September 17, 2009; two brothers: Alexander Sawicki and Stanley Sawicki; three sisters: Tessie Bouchard, Johanna Hernia and Mary Krymowski and his son-in-law: Bernard Morrilly.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Martin Church, 247 State Road, Otter River. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.   Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA.   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Hospice House, 236 Stetson Road, Auburn, Me 04210.   For more information or to sign our online guest book please visit www.poliksfuneralhome.com.
