Chiara T. Fisher

ATHOL - Chiara T. (Berardini) Fisher, 87, of 88 Goodale St., Athol, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in the Athol Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. She was born in Athol, on March 14, 1920, the daughter of the late Pasquale and the late Assunta (DePratti) Berardini. She graduated from Athol High School class of 1938. She attended the former Northampton Commercial College and graduated in 1941 with a secretarial degree. She worked during WWII at the former Union Twist Drill. She also worked at L.S. Starrett Company for three years as the executive secretary for the president. In addition, she also worked in the offices of Dr. John Dudis, Judge Rowe and Cetto Insurance. She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church and a member of the former Daughters of Isabella. She was an accomplished pianist who, in her youth, would provide musical accompaniment to her sister's operatic and classical singing at recitals and various performances, many at the York Theater. She will be missed by the many people for whom she always had words or notes of encouragement. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Frederick Fisher; two daughters, Diane Fisher of Athol, Claudia Mallet and husband David of Orange; two sons, Bernard Fisher and wife Ann of NY and Bruno Fisher and wife Lucinda of Athol; four Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Olga Berardini, step-father Frederick Lorusso and step-brother Bliss Lorusso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
