SARASOTA - Claire "Gug" (Kidnay) Farley, 86, of Sarasota, FL went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2008 in Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, FL.
She was born in Holyoke, on May 17, 1921, the daughter of the late Edward L. and the late Clare (Dauphinais) Kidnay.
"Gug", as she had come to be known, resided in Athol for over 20 years, where she worked as a bank teller for the Athol Savings Bank. She had lived in Sarasota, Florida since 1984. She was well known for her annual Christmas Card photos which can be viewed at www.legacy.com. She also enjoyed crocheting and had become an expert at the game "Catch Phrase".
Her incredible sense of humor and her many stories she told about her life will be sorely missed by her large family consisting of three sons, Bruce Farley of Petersham, Patrick Farley and his wife Patti Lou of Athol, Kim Farley and his wife Debbie of Athol; three daughters, Robyn Robertson of Athol, Marcia McMullen and her husband Danny of Sarasota, FL, and Susie Jenkins and her husband Carey of Sarasota, FL; as well as her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren of Athol and Sarasota, FL.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis P. Farley in 1981; also by her son, Glenn E. Farley in 1966; by her daughter-in-law, Michelle Farley in 1986; by her brother, Edward Kidnay; and by her sister, Barbara Tremblay.
There will be a graveside service at Silver Lake Cemetary at a later date.
