LEOMINSTER - Claire M. (Tata) LeBlanc, 86, of 147 9th Street, Leominster died Thursday, December 3, 2009, in UMass Memorial Hospital Worcester after a brief illness. She was born on March 11, 1923 in Leominster, daughter of the late Francisco and Rose (Pollastri) Tata. She was a lifelong resident of Leominster and attended local schools. Many years ago, she worked for Foster Grants as an assembler in the eyeglass division, and for the Commonwealth Plastics Company in the sample room. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster. She was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed sewing and creating oil paintings. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and especially with her two grandchildren. She leaves her husband of nearly 65 years, Leo J. LeBlanc of Leominster; a son, Brian LeBlanc and his wife Holly Cable of Lunenburg; a daughter, Rosemary Webster and her husband Jay of Londonderry, NH; four sisters, Angelina DeCiantes of Leominster, Rosalie Chillemi of Leominster, Phyllis Tata of Leominster, Beverly Hildreth of Indiana; two grandchildren, Jill Marie Ettori of Manchester, NH, Sarah Rose Ettori of Port Orange, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Agnes Marcantonio in 2008, Anne "Tessa" Tata and Esther Tata. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. All those attending the funeral Mass are asked to meet directly at the Church. Burial will follow in Saint Cecilia's Cemetery in Leominster. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Saint Cecilia's Church Fund, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453.
