LEOMINSTER- Claire M. St. Jean (Bergeron), 90, daughter of Hector & Alma, peacefully passed away at home on December 14, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves her devoted husband & dance partner, Robert, of Leominster. They recently celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends at their home. She is also survived by her 7 children, Donna Lavoie and her husband, Kenneth of Leominster, Steven St. Jean and his wife, Jan of Hubbardston, Nancy Vautour and her husband, Roger of Leominster, Barbara Davis and her husband, Peter of Leominster, Linda Landry and her husband, Bertrand of Gardner, Karen Nader and her husband, Mark of Maynard, and Cheryl Valera and her husband, Michael of Leominster. She will be fondly remembered by her 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great children.
She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond and her sister, Loretta.
Claire found great joy in hosting her large family with her famous roast beef dinners on Sundays. She looked forward to annual camping trips to Maine to dig clams and eat lobster with family and friends. Saturday nights were reserved for card playing and ballroom dancing. She and Robert enjoyed traveling the country on their motorhome adventures. She was a volunteer Girl Scout leader for many years as well as a member of the Women’s Homemakers Club. She was employed by Cluett and Peabody of Leominster.
The funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 20, at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday, December 19, from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 24, 100 West St., Leominster, MA 01453 or may be left at the funeral home.
