ATHOL- Clara M. (Roussel) Mosco, age 88, of Athol passed away peacefully Monday, February 23, 2015 at her home in Athol.
Clara was born February 9, 1927 in Athol the daughter of the late Peter Martin Roussel and the late Marie-Anne (Hebert) Roussel. Clara grew up the youngest of 10 children and was educated in Athol. During WWII, Clara was employed by the L. S. Starrett Co and in 1948 she married Robert J. Mosco, Sr. and became a homemaker. Later she worked as a Teacher's Aide for the Athol Royalston School District for 20 years.
Clara enjoyed cooking, her family and especially her grandchildren. She attended every Dance Recital, Little League, Basketball, Soccer or Lacrosse game that her grandchildren participated in over the years.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne-Marie Mosco and her significant other Craig Couillard of Phillipston; five sons: Robert J. Mosco, Jr. and wife Carole of Gardner, Steven E. Mosco and his significant other Joe Flint of Chicago, IL, Dennis P. Mosco and wife Elizabeth of Leominster, Gary J. Mosco and wife Suzanne of Holden, William K. Mosco of Athol; one sister: Lorraine Warren of Athol; seven grandchildren; Andrew Mosco and wife Alexandra of Newton, Jonathan Mosco of Colorado, Emma Mosco of Chicago, IL, Kayla Mosco of Chicago, IL, Alex Mosco of Leominster, Andrea Mosco of Holden, Jessica Mosco of Holden; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by five brothers and three sisters; Emile Roussel , Peter Martin Roussel Jr., Roland Roussel, Edmund Roussel, Romeo Roussel, Lydia Rindone, Lodia Roussel and Marie Alma Roussel.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Monday, March 2 at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will be at a later date in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday, March 1 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331 or to the charity of one’s choice.
