Clarence Elwell, age 78, of Athol died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Heywood Hospital of Gardner. Clarence was born January 27, 1938 in Athol. He is the son of the late Merle and the late Hattie (McLean) Elwell.
He served in the United States Army from 1/27/1956 until 10/24/1957. He had a career in woodworking and was employed by Temple Starrett and later retired from the Athol Table Shop.
He was good and kind hearted. His animals were his world. He enjoyed camping, deep sea fishing, beaches, the White Mountains, and his family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years Patricia (Panczky) Elwell on August 22, 2015, and his siblings Lila, Liddy, Bucky, Art and Corky.
He is survived by one daughter: Charlene Elwell of Athol; three sons: Clarence Elwell, Jr. and Robert Elwell both of Florida, Paul Elwell and his wife Brenda of Athol; He also has five grandchildren: Melissa Elwell, Michelle Elwell, Christina St. Hilaire, Robert Elwell, Jr., and Jennifer Elwell; and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
You will never be forgotten and will be in our hearts forever.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
