BALDWINVILLE- Clayton Russell Leland, 89, of Baldwinville, died Thursday,
January 23, at Alliance Health.
Clayton was born March 5, 1930, son of the late Russell and the late Ruby
(Davidson) Leland. He lived most of his life in Templeton attending Templeton schools. He worked at the former Templeton Lunch. He was a proud member of the Templeton Historical Society, the former Templeton Grange, the Templeton Golden Agers and the First Church of Templeton.
Clayton enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Tennessee and Florida, playing cards, listening to hymns and walking. He could be found walking far and wide in Templeton picking up bottles and cans, helping to keep his beloved town litter free. He was known by many young and old, and never met a stranger.
He leaves his brother, Robert Leland and his wife Nancy, of Templeton; a sister, Mary Perkins of Gardner and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Clayton was predeceased by a sister Gladys and brother Charles.
Calling hours are Wednesday, January 29, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. The funeral will begin at 11:00 A.M at Mack Family Funeral Homes, Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks Chapel, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Rev. William Ault will officiate.
