ATHOL - Clifford W. Chadwick, our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Grandpa and Friend, passed away at home on January 11, 2010.
Born on February 8, 1945 in Lawrence to Rita (Simmers) Chadwick and the late Gilbert Chadwick. Cliff attended the Windham, NH elementary schools and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1963. He studied at the Marist Brothers Seminary in New York for two years before deciding to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, later earning Business and Computer Science degrees as well.
His career was interrupted during the Vietnam War while he served in the U.S. Army. Once discharged, he resumed his 15 year employment with Raytheon Co., working on defensive missile projects and marine electronic systems. Cliff purchased a product line from Raytheon Co. and spent several years developing and selling atmospheric enclosures and electronic sealing equipment. He also enjoyed several years as a business consultant. Most recently he worked as a freelance website designer and friend to anyone in need of a helping hand.
Cliff is survived by his wife Anne M. (Peterson) Chadwick of Athol, MA, who shared his life for 30 years; his daughter, Michelle Convey and her husband Mike of Derry, NH; his son, Kyle Chadwick of Concord, NH, and his three grandchildren, Parish Chadwick, Emma Convey and Sofia Convey. He is also survived by his mother, Rita Chadwick of Deerfield, NH, his brothers, Robert Chadwick and his wife Barbara of Terrabonne, Oregon; Kenneth Chadwick and his wife Dorothy of Dover, NH; his sister, Marie Johnson of Windham, NH; his sisters-in-law, Maryann Chadwick, wife of George of Carbondale, CO; Jeannette Chadwick, wife of Gilbert of Orangevale, CA; Gail Peterson of Leominster, MA; Joan Cetto and her husband Peter of Broomfield, CO; Beth Cloutier and her husband Gene of Orange, MA; Lori Peterson of Methuen, MA; his brothers-in-law, John Peterson and his wife Patricia of Fayette, Maine, Kent Peterson of Athol and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Albert, Gilbert, George and James.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street, Athol, MA.
Burial will be at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, MA at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
