Clifford "Cliff" R. Grant

ORANGE - Clifford “Cliff” R Grant, 64, of Orange, passed away on Saturday June 1, 2013 in Athol Memorial Hospital after being stricken at home. He was the son of Lydia Hinton and the late Les Grant Sr. Cliff was born on March 19, 1949 in Boston and attended schools in Jamaica Plain.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1967 to 1968.  He lived in Athol for more than 25 years before moving to Orange where he and his wife of 37 years raised their children. Cliff worked for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in North Hampton as a Medical Administrator for many years having to leave due to a disability. During much of Cliff’s time, he enjoyed watching re-runs of  the Andy Griffith Show and I Love Lucy while wearing his favorite Red Converse Sneakers. He also enjoyed doing arts and crafts where he would put together some creative ideas that he would have. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was very important to him as well as  his love for animals and his cat “Molly”. Besides his wife Linda, Cliff leaves behind his mother Lydia Hinton of Athol, Four daughters; Rebecca Souza of Cape Cod, Tanya Truehart and her husband Dan of Athol, Dannielle Cardona and her husband Ivan of Orange, and Amanda Phelps and her husband Dave of Orange, two brothers; Les Grant Jr. and his wife Dottie of  North Attleboro and Doug Grant of Taunton, one sister; Linda Y. Robison and her husband Thomas of Randolph, nine grandchildren with one on the way, and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held on Friday June 7, 2013 at 11:00am in the Gethsemane Cemetery, Daniel Shays Highway, Athol. The family asks that all those that plan on attending the graveside service, to please meet at the cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Cliff’s name be made to: Meals on Wheels and Senior Meal Programs C/O Commision on Aging,135 East Main Street, Orange, MA 01364.
