Colette Heilman

Gardner-Colette JeAn (McClintock) Heilman, 90, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield after an illness. 

She was the wife of the late Wade Heilman who died in 2008.

She leaves one son, Wade Heilman of Derry, NH; one, daughter, Heather E. Tetreault of Gardner; and two grandsons, Gryphon Heilman-Tetreault and Rowan Heilman-Tetreault of Gardner. 

Colette was born in Corry, PA on August 24, 1932, a daughter of the late Ollie and Elsie (Kromas) McClintock. She graduated from Corry High School. She then graduated from Indiana State College and Penn State University with her Masters in Speech Pathology. 

She worked as a teacher in Pennsylvania, teaching History, English, and Drama. She worked as a Speech Pathologist in the Munson Developmental Center, Glavin Regional Center, and Fernald Colony in Templeton. 

Colette enjoyed embroidery and making t-shirts. and old movies that dealt with mystery, and suspense especially Sherlock Holmes. 

She was a member of QUOTA, the ASHA, the American Speech, and Hearing Association, and she was a member of Alpha Psi Omega and Sigma Alpha ETA

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2022, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440.  

Her funeral services and burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA.
