Leominster- Conrad L. Leblanc, 93, of 641 Pleasant Street, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at River Terrace Nursing Home in Lancaster following an illness. He was born in Canada on August 20, 1913 the son of the late Moises and Albertine (Houde) Leblanc. He worked at the Foster Grant Sunglass Company for 50 years. In 1928, at the age of 15 he, he started working there as an assembler and pieceworker. By the time he retired, in 1978, he had 10 patents for the company and was the director of product design and development for the largest manufacturer of sunglasses in the world. Conrad was a man of many qualities. He loved his family and was much loved in return. He loved hiking, mountain climbing, and skiing. He played organized indoor badminton for 30 years. Doing projects in his workshop was one on his favorite pastimes. He was devoted to his religion, sang in the choir at St. Cecilia's for 23 year's and rarely missed going to church on Sunday. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and a member of the 25 year Club of Foster Grant. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Jennie (Gorgoglione) Leblanc of Leominster; a son, David Leblanc and his wife, Patricia of Pepperell; a daughter, Claudia Minichiello and her husband, Anthony of Fitchburg; four grandchildren, Nicole and Travis Leblanc of Pepperell, Laura Minchiellio of Oldsmar, Florida, Susan Minchiello and her fiance, Steven Prygoda of Waltham: He was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Leblanc and Raoul Leblanc, and by four sisters, Marie Monahan, Aurore Bedard, Cecile Rousseau, and Gabrielle Desilet. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Cecilia's Church 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the M.A. Simard and Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 from 6- 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Conrad's memory be made to St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
