Constance Thompson passed away December 26, 2024 at St. Vincent’s hospital, Worcester, MA after a period of declining health.

Born Constance Marie Bowen in Plaistow, NH in 1943, her parents were Mildred (Colgan) Bowen and Cornelius William Bowen. Connie attended high school in in Haverhill, MA where she sang in the select state chorus and achieved the highest ranking in Girl Scouts. She earned her R. N. at St. Elizabeth’s hospital and later a B.A. from the University of the Redlands in California. During her decades long career in California she worked for the VA, several Los Angeles hospitals and hospice care.

Returning to Massachusetts, Connie because an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Society in Gardner, the TOPS program, and in what gave her the most joy, singing with the Chair City Pipers (Surround Song.) An avid reader, Connie did daily crossword puzzles, loved to travel and cook.

Connie leaves her devoted sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bob Cronin of Hubbardston, MA; her treasured niece and nephew, Jennifer Cronin of Hubbardston, and Jeffrey Cronin and his wife Karen Cronin of Takoma Park, MD, her great nieces, Anna Cronin of Boston, Margaret Riley of New York, New York and Lily and Fiona Riley of Hubbardston. She was predeceased by her former husband Paul Thompson M.D. of Glendale, CA.

The family would like to acknowledge the friendship and support of Sandi Rushia who helped Connie live independently for years.
