FITCHBURG- Cynthia Marie (Boucher) Bacener, 62, of Fitchburg, died Wednesday, August 5, after a short illness.
She was born October 23, 1952, in Fitchburg, daughter of the late Romeo and Lillian (Leger) Boucher. Cindy graduated from Saint Bernard’s Central Catholic High School in 1971. She was a hairdresser for many years working in Ayer. She earned her Nursing degree from Mount Wachusett Community College in 1999. Cindy worked at Apple Valley Center in Ayer as the Nurse Manager for several years before her illness. Cindy loved the beach, especially Old Orchard and going to Foxwoods. She was a wonderful mother and enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephews.
She leaves her children, Shawn and Stacey Bacener, both of Fitchburg; her brother, David Boucher and his wife, Barbara, of Fitchburg; her former husband, Edward Bacener and his wife, Christine; sisters-inlaw, Daisy Bacener, Dora Saari, and Maria Sanders; nephews, Peter and Steve Boucher, and David Saari; nieces, Iliana Helps, Christine S.; great niece and nephews, Emily and William Boucher, Austen Boucher, and Deandre Ortiz; her dear friends, Betty Mahon, Susan Cronin, and Kelly Sheedy-Roper.
She was predeceased by her niece, Stephanie Saari in 2008.
The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 8, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fitchburg.
Calling hours are Friday, August 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.
