Darlene P. Gaitan

TEMPLETON - Darlene Pauline (Michaud) Gaitan, 48, of 55 Rice Road, Templeton, passed away after a courageous three-month battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at home with her family by her side. Darlene was born on March 16, 1962 and raised in Fitchburg, the daughter of the late Gerald and the late Lorraine (Gadoury) Michaud. She graduated from Fitchburg High School and earned an Associate's Degree in Medical Records from Mount Wachusett Community College. Mrs. Gaitan resided in Gardner for ten years before moving to Templeton thirteen years ago. She worked as a school bus driver for the Heritage Bus Company in Gardner for twelve years and was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Templeton. Darlene enjoyed gardening, decorating and shopping. She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, Carlos, on his motorcycle and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She leaves her husband of twenty-five years, J. Carlos Gaitan; three sons, Jerold A. Gaitan and his fiancee Johana Lopez of TX, Jamie J. Gaitan and his wife Nikki of Norton, Carlos M. Gaitan and his companion Nicole Cassarino of Fitchburg; three sisters, Gail Richard and her husband George of Phillipston, Laura Lee Doherty and her husband Joseph of Rindge, NH, Kim Michaud of Leominster; one brother, Gary Cordio and his wife Vivian of Ashby; two grandchildren, Lola Gaitan of Norton, Joseph Gaitan of Fitchburg; mother-in-law, Amparo Chartier of FL; sister-in-law, Marcela Gaitan of Washington DC; four nephews, Jeret Koski of Florida, Mark Richard of Phillipston, Timmy Michaud of Leominster, Bruce Cordio of Ashby; three nieces, Jeralee Pare of Greenville, NH, Mindy Lee Michaud of Leominster and Marie Cordio of Ashby. Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours.
