He was born in Gardner, MA on January 15,1959 the son of Hugh "Mickey" and Ann(Esposito)Chapman. David was raised in Gardner, MA and graduated from Gardner High School in 1978.Upon graduation he moved to New York City where he worked for the maintenance department at Columbia University. He also worked as a security guard at several night clubs throughout New York City. David moved to South Carolina 20 years ago where he worked as a self-employed contractor. He was a dog enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his many dogs. He also enjoyed skiing, golfing, weight lifting, cooking, playing cards, and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid fan of The New England Patriots. David lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for his fun-loving personality that would light up every room he entered.
Besides his parents he leaves three brothers; Peter Chapman of Kodiak, Alaska, William Chapman and his wife Denise of Gardner, MA and Glenn Chapman of Orange, MA. nephews; Christopher, Andrew, Michael and Nicholas.great nieces; Bayleigh, Margaret Ann and Hadley. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves many friends in Massachusetts, NewYork and South Carolina. David also leaves his golden retriever Polly.
Calling hours will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 from 5-7pm at Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks Funeral Home, 105 Central St. Gardner.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday December 30, 2017 at 10am in Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St. Gardner.
Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
