ATHOL - David L. Galvin, 77 of 154 Wallingford Ave., Athol, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner, MA.
David was born in Lowell MA, on March 23, 1939, the son of the late Lawrence and the late Martha (Mannistro) Galvin.
He grew up in Lowell and spent most of his life there, eventually moving to Athol in 2004.
He earned a BS Degree after attending Bentley College and Suffolk University. He was an accountant for Raytheon for over 25 years. He was a history buff and his other hobbies included reading, watching and collecting movies.
He leaves his wife of 56 years: Mary J.(Garrant) Galvin; two sons: David L. Galvin Jr. and his wife Elena of Lowell, James Galvin and his wife Michelle of Pepperell; three grandchildren: Justin Galvin, Emelia Galvin, Pasha Shift; one sister: Cynthia Heroux of Sarasota FL.; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10:30 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol MA. Burial will follow in the Silver Lake Cemetery, also in Athol.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange.
