ATHOL – David L. Pelto, 58 of Athol, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in the CCU at Leominster Hospital. David was born in Athol on January 5, 1961 to the late David J. Pelto and Viola V. (Foster) Pelto. David grew up in Athol and attended Athol Schools. After High School he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he very proudly served our country. He worked at the Fabric Place & Upholstery in Fitchburg as well as Standard Chair of Gardner. He was a former member of the Gardner Eagles for many years, where he served on the board and was also an active member of the Deep Sea Club of Gardner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, time spent with family, The New England Patriots, horseshoes and cribbage. He leaves his wife Ramona (Morgan) Pelto of Athol, whom he has been with for forty-three wonderful years; his mother, Viola Pelto; one son, David P. Pelto and his wife Michelle and their family of Orange. He will be greatly missed by his adoring grandson, Austin Pelto of Orange; beloved aunt, Rose LaFountain and her family of Athol; Godson, Tyler Brailey of Orange. He also leaves aunts, cousins and grandparents both predeceased and living and many close friends. Memorial donations may be made in memory of David L. Pelto, Leominster Hospital Critical Care Unit 60 Hospital Rd. Leominster, MA 01453 or Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center 275 Nichols Rd. Fitchburg, MA 01420.
