WORCESTER - David W. Rowe, 95, a lifelong resident of Athol, died Monday, November 2, 2009 in the Parson's Hill Nursing Home, Worcester. He was born in Athol on July 13, 1914, the son of the late Richard F. and the late Julia (Bradley) Rowe. Mr. Rowe was raised and educated in Athol and worked as a machinist at local factories for many years. He served in the United States Army during World War II, receiving the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He enjoyed being outdoors, walking and bird watching. He was interested in telecommunications and enjoyed spending summers by the ocean in Maine, New Hampshire, and New Mexico with his family. He leaves three step-sons, Keith Williams and his wife Nancy of Athol, Scott Williams of Northampton, Christopher Williams and his wife Barbara of New Mexico; and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise Rowe, in 1972; by his second wife, Shirley (Ellis) (Williams) Rowe; and by his brother, Richard F. Rowe. Graveside services in Highland Cemetery in Athol were private. There are no calling hours. $(document).ready(function(){ });
