GREENFIELD – David Star, 70, of Orange, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 in Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.
He was born on July 4, 1946 in Worcester, MA the son of the late Thomas J. Flynn and the late Elizabeth M. (Chapdelaine) Flynn.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War from 1964-1967. He belonged to the North Quabbin Trails Association, attended the First Universalist Church of Orange, and the Meditation Group at the Castle.
David was a lifelong student who never stopped searching for knowledge, he was an excellent storyteller, and enjoyed helping others. David was dearly loved by all that knew him.
David is survived by his daughter: Tammy Sumrall and her husband Jack and her children Jennifer, Cori, Deric and Sarah; twin sister: Kay Fern; and her children: Michael Downey and his children Keegan and Meika; Beth Labbe' and her husband Barry and their children Ben and Ryan; wife Carol Naumann Star and her children: Ian and Carl; niece and nephew Denise Simoneau, Deb Alcorn, and David Dunham; as well as three great-grand children and so many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the First Universalist Church of Orange, 31 North Main St., Orange, MA 01364. Rev. Meredith Anderson will be the celebrant.
Reception put on by the women of the church to follow in the church hall.
