GARDNER- On Saturday May 1, 2021, Dean Benoit, a loving wife and mother of three children passed away at the age of 95.
Dean was born in Gardner on August 29, 1925 to Edward and Ann (Goderre) Bernard. She was a 1943 graduate of Gardner High school. On June 21, 1947 after World War II, she married the love of her life Lawrence Benoit. They lived in Gardner where they raised three children, Richard Benoit, Susan Dabuliewicz and Nancy Benoit-Melanson.
Before retiring she worked in a silver shop on Chestnut St during WWII to support the war effort. She also worked at Heywood Wakefield and in the Gardner school system.
Dean had a passion for reading, crocheting, fishing and visiting the Cape with friends and family. Dean was known for her kindness, generosity, humor and compassion.
She was predeceased by siblings Theodore Bernard, George Bernard, Theresa Koehler and Donald Bernard.
Dean was blessed with a large family and is survived by her husband of 74 years, Lawrence Benoit; her sister, Mary-Ann Robuccio; three children, Richard Benoit and his wife Cathy, Susan Dabuliewicz and her husband John, and Nancy Benoit-Melanson and her husband Philip; four grandchildren, Benjamin Dabuliewicz (Amy Mitchell), Rachel Harrington (Brendan), Liz Stanley (Jeremiah) and Ryan Benoit (Danielle Haas); three great grandchildren Lucas, Molly, and Les, plus several nieces and nephews.

Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, has been entrusted with Dean's funeral arrangements. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 12 p.m., preceded by calling hours from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Burial will be at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Cemetery in Winchendon, MA
