LEOMINSTER - Dean W. Pickett, 62 of 70 Causeway Terrace, Leominster, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at home. He was born in Colfax, Washington on December 29, 1944, the son of the late Walter C. and the late Alvina (Kunkel) Pickett. Dean grew up in Gardiner, Oregon and graduated from Reeds Port High School. He moved to the Leominster area and received his Associates Degree in Accounting from Mount Wachusett Community College. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Rand Whitney for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church where he was very active. He was a former member of St. Leo´s Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. He was a corvette enthusiast. He leaves his wife of thirty nine years, Elaine R. (Shaw) Pickett, one daughter, Tonya D. Dokulil and her husband Jason of Winchendon; two sons, Tim D. Pickett and his wife Karen of Ashburnham, Todd D. Pickett and his wife Tricia of Leominster; one brother, Donald Miller of Texas; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Cassandra, Andrew, Brandon, Justin, Natalie, Alexis and Samuel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 11:30 am in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Our Lady of the Lake Church - Restoration Fund 1400 Main St., Leominster, MA 01453 or to the National MS Society, Training & Resource Center, 700 Broadway, Suite 810, Denver, CO 80203-3442, Attn: Donation Processing.
