Deborah F. (Fowler) MacKay

ATHOL- Deborah F. (Fowler) MacKay, 81, of Athol, died Monday, February 26, at Quabbin Valley Health Care, after an illness. Deborah was born June 12, 1936, in Evanston, Illinois, daughter of the late William and Janet (Kimbark) Fowler. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wells College. Deborah was generous with her time, volunteering at Athol Hospital as manager of the gift shop. She was a gifted artist. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Donald MacKay; two sons, Glenn MacKay and his wife, Brenda of Medford, and Allyn R. MacKay and his wife, Pamela of Grosse Pointe, MI; two daughters, Laura Jean MacKay of Greenfield, and Janet Moore of Victoria, WA; five grandchildren, Sophia, Leah, and Paisley MacKay, Emily and Rachel Moore; two sisters, Judy Qualey of Sarasota, FL, and Nancy Puls of Northfield, IL; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William R. Fowler. The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in the Athol/Orange Baptist Church, 131 Ridge Ave, Athol. Burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery.
