Dell J. St. Hilaire
Athol – Dell J. St. Hilaire, 62, of 38 Gibson Drive, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Dell was born in Athol, Massachusetts, April 14, 1952, the son of the late George E. and Dorothy R. (Rivers) St. Hilaire. He lived in Athol and Orange for many years and attended Athol schools. He also lived in Winchester and Swanzey, NH for several years.
Dell worked at Harrington & Richardson in Gardner for many years and also was a bartender at the Dery Bar and the Athol American Legion for many years. While living in New Hampshire he was a flagger which he enjoyed also working at Plumb Pak in NH.
He was a member of the Athol Lions Club and the North Quabbin Angler’s. Dell’s passion in life was fishing, when not working you could always find him at Lake Mattawa fishing, watching the eagles and chatting with his fishing buddies. He also enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and the New England Patriots, going to the Athol High School football games and going to the Tully CCC meat raffles with his daughter.
Dell leaves a daughter, Tonya St.Hilaire-Nicoletti and her husband Joe of Athol; two grandchildren, Avery and Julia Nicoletti; his caregiver and niece, Heather Hays of Athol; three brothers, Butch St. Hilaire and his wife Jan of Plano, TX, Raymond St. Hilaire and Kenneth St. Hilaire and his wife Pam and a sister Bridget Shaw and her husband Fred, all of Athol; many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dell’s life will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Tully City Council Club, 365 Tully Road, Orange, MA.
