Diana M Gurney

FITCHBURG - Diana M. Gurney, 66, of Fitchburg, passed away in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital follow a brief illness. Diana was born on March 14, 1947 in Waterville, Maine.  She attended schools in Maine and moved to Fitchburg in 1965. Diana worked as a stitcher for the former Asher Pants and also worked for the former Sanitoy Co. in Fitchburg. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making puzzles and spending time in her garden, watching movies and playing video games. Diana was especially fond of watching her little friend Jocelyn for whom she adored. Diana had a special love for animals. She would be the one that everyone would go to for help when it came time nurture a sick cat, bird or squirrel back to health. Diana was the loving wife of 47 years to Roland J Gurney, Jr. of Fitchburg, the mother of Roland J Gurney and his wife Nancy of Gardner, the sister to three brothers; Richard Fortin and his wife Linda, Danny Gleason, and Steven Gleason and his wife Helen all of Maine, two sisters; Gloria Jean Bessey and her husband Don, and Maryann Dumont, both of Maine, four grandchildren; Michael, Benjamin, Jonathan, and Cassandra, also 1 great grandchild Jonathan Jr, and Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Debra Jean Gurney who passed away in 2004 and her brother-in-law Clifford Dumont. All of the services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
