Diane L. (Toppi) Conroy

HUBBARDSTON- Diane L. (Toppi) Conroy, 67, of Hubbardston, died Wednesday, August 29, at Heywood Hospital. She was born November 18, 1950, daughter of the late John A. and Geraldine T. (Atherton) Toppi. She graduated from Cambridge Latin High School in 1969, and attended Worcester State and the Wilson School of Phlebotomy. She worked at Data General/EMC for 23 years and for U.S. Labs in Marlborough as a traveling phlebotomist for 18 months. Diane was a member of the Hubbardston Senior Center and enjoyed crocheting, doodling while on the phone, spending time with her grandchildren and taking trips to nowhere with them, crossword puzzles, baking, shopping, and being with her great granddaughter, Callie. She leaves her husband, James F. Conroy, with whom she would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on September 12; one son, James F. Conroy, Jr. and his wife, Tammie of Hubbardston; one daughter, Darlene Vautour and her fiancé, Chris Nichols of Fitchburg; three grandchildren, Kaitlin E. Vautour, Kimberly A. Vautour, and Nicole M. Vautour; one great granddaughter, Callie A. Vautour; two brothers, John A. Toppi and his wife Melissa of Saugus and Thomas E. Toppi and his wife Maria of CT; two sisters, Donna L. Leblanc and her husband Rickey of Templeton and Debra Desilets and her husband Kevin of Hubbardston; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald J. Toppi. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 6, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Church, Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Hubbardston. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 5, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Mack Family Funeral Homes, Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks Funeral Home, 305 Central St., Gardner.
