BALDWINVILLE- Dolores “Dolly” E. (Chipman) Davis, 87, died peacefully in Alliance Health at Baldwinville on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020. She was born in Gardner, MA on April 13, 1933, the daughter of the late Arnold and Elsie (Herk) Chipman.
Dolly graduated from Gardner High School in 1951, and enjoyed her childhood and upbringing in the Gardner community. She was a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company; and in her later years worked at Ashburnham Rest Home.
Dolly found joy and pleasure in listening to all types of music, and instilled her love of music to her family. She enjoyed card games, especially “pitch” and driving in the countryside viewing the clouds and sky. She loved spending time with her family, having fun with the staff at the nursing home, and her friends at Mission St. Church in Gardner.
She leaves behind her two beloved daughters, Debby Mercik and husband David of Ashburnham, Diane Marley and husband Hank of Wood River Junction, RI; three grandchildren, Kristin Dorriety and husband Charlie of Barre, Richard Mercik of Gardner, and Allison Marley and husband Christian of Noblesville, IN. She was “G.G.” to her two adored great-grandsons, Logan and Roman Dorriety; and two special sisters-in-law, Mary Chipman of Templeton, and Betty Kimball of Westboro; a long with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dolores was predeceased by two brothers, Arnold and William Chipman.
Her husband of 52 years, Richard A. Davis, died in 2008.
