Dolores Maria Tamulen, 75, walked into the sunset on November 7, 2023. Born in Gardner, MA, on April 26, 1948, Dolores was the embodiment of determination, grace, and creativity. Her journey from being a proud 1966 Graduate of Gardner High School to the successful owner and operator of H K Photo, showcased her unwavering dedication and passion for her craft. Dolores had the unique ability to capture life's most fleeting moments and transform them into timeless memories. As the American photographer Aaron Siskind once said, "Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."
Dolores' creativity expanded beyond the lens as she found solace and joy in making floral arrangements, counted cross-stitch, and quilting. She imbued every thread she sewed and every flower she arranged with love, creating tapestries of affection for those around her. Her life was a testament to the words of Maya Angelou, "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." Dolores is survived by her loving husband, James Tamulen, her sons Jason and his wife Ilse, and Cory Kruger, stepsons Jason Tamulen and his wife Shawna and Joshua Tamulen, grandchildren, Dylan Kruger, Ayla, Logan, Aidan, and Kaitlyn Tamulen, and her sister Denise Lahtinen and her husband Peter, and one brother, Paul Laliberte. She was predeceased by her parents, Henri and Beulah Laliberte, and brother Raymond Laliberte.
Dolores' life was a beautiful portrait of love, resilience, and creativity. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember Dolores, let us not simply mourn her passing but celebrate the remarkable life she lived, and the countless lives she touched.
