Dominic Alfred Guilmette

Dominic Alfred Guilmette, 78 , died Saturday, June 3, 2023, in the Health Alliance Hospital Leominster Campus surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Fitchburg on February 14th, 1945, the son of the late Leon A. Guilmette and the late Beatrice (Pike) Guilmette.  Dominic attended Athol schools until high school and then attended New Salem Academy.

He was employed at the former Cass Toy Shop, Union Twist Drill as a Carbide Technician for 19 years, and retired from the L.S. Starrett Company after 24 years.  Dominic was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church, he served on the Parish Council for several years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, enjoyed getting together with the whole family on holidays, birthdays, and barbecues with the family in the summer.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Susan (Moore) Guilmette; one son, Dominic Guilmette, Jr. of Athol; three daughters, Kimberly Webb and her husband Michael Webb of Gardner, Alayne Stone and her husband Steven Stone of Phillipston; Lori Mattson and her husband Michael Mattson of Templeton; grandchildren, Evan Mattson of  Alexandria, NH, Lauryn Mattson of Templeton, Ryan Mattson of Templeton, Lyndsey Guilmette of Athol, Landon Guilmette of Athol.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023  at 11:30 AM in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 from 9:00- 10:45 AM in the Fiske -Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Dominic's memory be made to Care Central VNA & Hospice, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440 or Athol Animal Shelter, 450 Thrower Rd, Athol, MA 01331.
