Athol – Donald W. Watts, age 94, of Athol passed away at Heywood Hospital after an illness.

Donald was born on May 30, 1929 in Gardner to the late Ralph W. and Mary Louise (Pfaff) Watts.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he was a Civil Defense Director for 9 years in Athol.

Donald worked in machinery and manufacturing until his retirement. He retired from Bay State Carbide in 2000.

He is survived by his loving children: Diane O. Wiles and her spouse Caith of Oregon, Terry L. Burton of Athol, Jade Watts of NH and Jason Watts of NH; his grandchildren: Lorrien, Alexander, Eric, Jeremiah, Nicholas, Brody, Kendall and Eden; great grandchildren: Cian, Julian, Eve, Owen, Samuel, Amelia, and one future one.

He was predeceased by his children: Waunita Watts, Serina Kim Cullen and Dale Watts and his grandson, Jeremy.

Donald loved to garden and took joy in sharing the abundance of his fruits with family, friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed golfing and woodworking.

Private funeral services and interment.
