Doris M. Nolette
Athol – Doris M. (Ballentine) Nolette, 96, of 47 Sunrise Terrace, died Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
Doris was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, August 9, 1915, the daughter of William H. and Kathryn (Donahue) Ballentine, Sr. She grew up in Gardner, graduating from Gardner High School, moving to Winchendon in 1936 and since 1980 has resided in Athol.
Doris was a homemaker and worked at Edward’s Pharmacy in Gardner prior to her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church and the Catholic Women’s League.
She leaves her husband of 41 years, Robert L. Nolette; step-son, Michael Nolette; a step-daughter, Carolyn Knight, both of Winchendon; 15 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Ballentine, Jr. and Paul Ballentine and a sister, Marion Drury,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street, Athol. There will be a calling hour on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Gardner at a later date.
