Doris Caouette

Doris E. (Greene) Caouette passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family in the home she’s overseen for 87 years in the center of Ashburnham. Doris was born June 8, 1934 in Fitchburg to Ralph Henry Allen Greene and Esther (Lashua) Greene. Doris loved being surrounded by her family, her extended family and friends and her quiet, steady demeanor served as a bedrock for all those she touched. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Doris grew up in Ashburnham and was well known for her big ‘town’ extended family, her deep interests in antiques, her keen eye on town affairs, and her love of animals. Both Joe and Doris loved catching ‘their’ Celts & Sox and a ride in the countryside. Doris graduated from Cushing Academy in ’52 amongst the top of her class, played softball, and later on worked as a bookkeeper for AT&T, later returning to work part time also bookkeeping for Salon 8.

Doris is survived by her Husband of almost 67 years, Joseph Wilfred Caouette, and her family; Dr. Ralph and Maureen Caouette of Dunedin, FL, Dawn and Michael Collette of Gardner MA, Gary and Bonnie Caouette of Ashburnham, and Lori and Randy Girard of both Ashburnham and Port Charlotte, FL. Completing the picture on Doris’ family are her grandchildren; Josh and Lauren Colombo, Tyler Colombo, Dakota Hyre, Kendell and Forrest Hyde, Emily and Paul Zak, Malyan Francis, and Chris and Megan Shea. Great grandchildren she always cherished spending time with are: Dean Colombo, Forrest Hyde IV, Kobe Francis, Weston Zak, and Tristan Shea . She was pre-deceased by her close sister Geraldine Vinceguerra. She had many nephews, nieces, grand nieces & nephews.

Service and burial will be private.
