Doris M. (Chaisson) Lamoureux

ATHOL - Doris (Chaisson) Lamoureux, 91, of Athol, died on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.   Doris was born in Athol on April 27, 1920, the daughter of the late Joy and the late Emily (Gaudett) Chaisson. She was a lifelong resident of Athol. Mrs. Lamoureux worked for the former McElwain Shoe Company in Athol until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Golden Age Club and the Athol American Legion Auxiliary. Doris was a former member of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol and was an avid bingo player.   She leaves her son, David Lamoureux and his wife Marion of Newburyport; two grandchildren, Kevin Lamoureux and his wife Leila of Natick, Kim Lamoureux of Watertown; two great grandchildren, William Lamoureux and Matthew Lamoureux of Natick.   She was predeceased by her husband of forty-eight years, Arthur S. Lamoureux, on March 1, 1986.   A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol.   A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.     In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Quabbin Valley Healthcare Activity Fund, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331.   The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Quabbin Valley’s Greenwich unit for the sincere kindness and care given to Doris during her stay. $(document).ready(function(){ });
